Card of the Week

Card of the Week for October 28 2018: The High Priestess

By October 28, 2018 No Comments

The High Priestess sits between the conscious and the subconscious, the unknown and the known. As we approach Samhain, the veil between the world thins, and she is present at that threshold.

This card showing in reverse warns that you may be prone to listening to external voices (or your ego) more than your own internal wisdom right now.

There’s a lot of turmoil in the world, especially in the United States. One week ago, the NY Times reported that they obtained a memo that the Department of Health and Human Services is working towards limiting the definition of gender, an initiative that puts the lives of our trans brothers and sisters at risk.  A mail-bomb scare targeted several prominent Democrats. On Wednesday, a white man entered a Kroger’s store in a predominantly black neighborhood, opening fire and killing two people. On Saturday, a man opened fire during a baby-naming ceremony at Tree of Life Congregation, a Jewish Synagogue.

We are being pushed to fear, a place where our ego has power and where our intuition is hushed.

We need to get outside of that place of fear and to a place of power. Now more than ever we need to hear the wisdom of our higher selves.

Decks used:

Card of the Month (The Hermit): The Wild Unknown
Card of the Week (High Priestess): Tarot Mucha

PS – I actually pulled this card and took the picture on Friday before my road trip to see my mom. Boaz and Jachin (B and J) are the pillars at the porch of Solomon’s Temple, the first temple in Jerusalem. When I wrote my interpretation on Saturday I saw a connection between the card and the synagogue shooting, so I’m a little wigged out because it feels like these energies started to manifest early.
